  • 🇬🇧I shot this photo in London with my old Canon when I was a PhD student. I remember I was browsing through some books in a second hand bookstore by the Thames when I heard the sound of the saxophone. In the background you can see the Palace of lWestminster 🇮🇹Ho scattato questa foto a Londra quando studiavo per il dottorato.   • 🇮🇹 Il Ficus Macrophylla di piazza Marina, a Palermo, la mia città di nascita e della mia fanciullezza. Si trova all’interno del Giardino Garibaldi ed e’ considerato da tutti come il più grande albero di Europa e uno dei più grandi al mondo. La sua altezza e’ maggiore di 30 metri, con una circonferenza che supera i 20 metri. Un cartello indica la sua età in 150 anni e in effetti il 1863 e’ la data in cui l’architetto Filippo Basile progettò è costruì questo Giardino, sul piano della Marina di Palermo (che oggi si chiama piazza Marina). Il quartiere che sorge attorno la piazza si chiama Kalsa ed e’ stata la prima area conquistata e abitata dagli arabi (Kalsa viene da Al Khalesa, la eletta, la zona fortificata avamposto degli arabi) 🇬🇧A tree of Ficus Macrophylla in Palermo, Sicily considered the biggest tree in Europe. #tree #trees #palermo #treesofinstagram #tree_shotz #travelphotography @dalila.mancusi

  • 🇬🇧These are four photographies I shot this night here in Klagenfurt of the art intervention by the Austrian artist Klaus Littman and the Italian landscape architect Enzo Enea entitled “For Forest -The unending attraction of nature”. This work of art is the transformation of the Wörthersee football stadium into a native Central European forest. It was inspired by a drawing by the Austrian artist Max Peintner. I take it as the statement we might end up seeing nature only in this way, like a museum. I hope people will think more and more seriously about the fact that we urgently need to protect the planet. 🇮🇹 Quattro fotografie che ho scattate a Klagenfurt questa notte. Si tratta di una istallazione artistica dell’artista Klaus Littman e l’architetto di paesaggio italiano Enzo Enea (con il quale ho avuto un interessantissima conversazione) ispirata da un disegno di Max Peintner. L’opera, di fatto una vera forests dentro lo stadio di Klagenfurt, suggerisce che potremmo vedere nel futuro la natura solo in posti come questi, come facciamo con gli animali in uno zoo. Lo spettatore puo’ osservare da diversi punti di vista la foresta e riflettere su qualcosa alla quale non fa caso quotidianamente. Iniziative come queste dovrebbero far riflettere su quanto sia importante nelle nostre azioni quotidiane emettere la minore quantità possibile di anidride carbonica e rispettare il mondo animale e vegetale. #nature #trees #art #forforest #tree #climatechange
